Trolling Bags
Your bags will be shipped separately from the rest of your order, directly from the manufacturer, and may take a few days to be manufactured. We may not be able to accommodate rush orders, email or call for assistance.
Our trolling bags are hand made from high quality materials right here in Michigan. I have been using these bags for several years now and have found them to be the best on the market.
So many times I have spoken to fishermen who continually struggle to maintain trolling speed on their boat, or complain about poor steering or poor auto pilot performance.
When you reduce the thrust from your prop, by lowering RPM's or pitch or with trolling plates, or even using a kicker, you are reducing the steering ability of your boat. This leaves you speaking badly of your fishing partner, your auto pilot or worse, your spouse. A pair of trolling bags allows you to raise the thrust of your motor and steer better.
The resistance of the bags has another benefit also. The bag acts as a 'damper" on the motion of the boat, making it ride more comfortably in rough seas. No other method of speed control gives you this benefit.
At $90 to $150, depending on size, the bags are comparable to a prop or trolling plate, and a small fraction of the cost of a kicker.
Simply run a line from your center cleat to the front of the bag and a line from the back of the bag to the back corner of your boat.
You need enough slack so the bag gets well into the water but tight enough to keep it close to the boat and out of your lines.
Our bags are custom made by a gentleman from Manistee who has been making these bags for decades. He is a WWII Veteran who learned to make the bags from his father, who made drift socks for the US Navy and Coast Guard. No, these bags are not copies of some other bags, most bags on the market are imitations of these.
The bags are available in Vinyl Coated Nylon, a material that has literally decades of proven dependability
and CORDURA fabric, a high performance fabric with 2x the strength of Nylon. Extensive testing has shown it to be an extremely durable, lightweight, fast drying alternative to our classic Vinyl Coated Nylon. My fishing partner fished
for two years with a pair of Cordura bags.
All bags (except as may be noted) are custom made and shipped directly from the manufacturer, so rush orders may be difficult.
